It has been a while since i last blogged. I have been very busy... and stressed. My friend Shay came to visit from NY on Thursday (6/17).
Friday:
We went to Miami (which is about 4 hours from tampa).
Saturday:
We went to south beach. We walked around for hours until i began to hurt. I am about 95% back to normal, but all that walking in the heat really messed me up.
Sunday:
We went to sawgrass, which is a huge outlet mall in south fla. She really enjoyed the mall...needless to say i was ready to go.
Monday:
We came back home... and watched movies most of the day.
Tuesday:
We went to the movies to see karate kid.
Wednesday:
I took Trisha, Vicki, and Shay to eat at Fridays, (i picked off my friend's plates) and then we went to Ripley's believe it or not in Orlando.
Today:
I took my roommate (Nik) to the airport. We left at 5:00am to get her to the Sanford airport by 630am. I will be taking Shay to the airport today at 2pm. WHOOO HOOOO!! I will finally have the house all to myself. Thank goodness.
Tomorrow:
I will be going with my neighbors Trisha and Terrence and their niece Vicki to Universal Studios. That should be interesting.
Saturday:
I will be taking my dad to see the blue man group in Orlando, a late father's day gift.
Sunday:
I will be meeting up with an old college buddy for dinner
Damn!!Orlando for a night, 2 trips to orlando in 1 day, then orlando fri and Saturday. lol.
I haven't lost any weight, but i haven't been eating very good either. Now that I will be home for some time... i will be able to eat better.
Summer has officially begun.

1 week, 1 day
One week and One day down since surgery. Everything is going fine.. I am healed and feeling so much better! Today I am struggling with a sweet tooth... I am thinking about some yogurt. I hope that will curve the craving. But guess what? I have no yogurt! Geez. I dont know, ill figure something out. I ate dinner at 5pm... I had beef soup. I picked the beef out of it and also the potatoes. I am still extremely full! I hope it stays this way.
I really dont have much to update on, I just didnt want things to get dry over here.
So i will conclude... perhaps read the night away. I know.. lame lol.

3 days post op...
Wow. I must say... this is one hell of a journey. Geez. So i guess I will go ahead and tell my story. See if I can get it all in.
THURSDAY-
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I made it to the hospital by 10am Thursday Morning, and my best friend and I checked in. What shocked me is... when i checked in there was no ID asked for. I'm use to the hospitals down in south FL where you have to wear a badge to be able to enter the hospital with your picture, what floor you will be on and whether or not you are a patient or visitor. We waited in the waiting room... which was comical because this was the first time i seen a telephone in the waiting room... and nurses would call patients back. It was up to random people to answer the phone... so every time the phone rang my heart dropped and my stomach jumped. Finally at 1130 they called me back to get things going. Lish was able to go back with me, which helped to calm my nerves. I changed into the lovely gown (which i got to tie up so i wasn't ass out) They got my IV started, which was painless.. and i talked with my doctor, OR nurse, anesthesiologist, and another nurse who did my vitals. They also did my EKG, and everything was A-o-K. After all that, 12pm, I walked over to the stretcher and hopped up on it... and they wheeled me away from my Lish. The operating room was cold but looked cool. I seen all the tools they were going to use. My OR nurse was very funny and so were the nurses. They had me laughing, even though i was scared to death.
Before I know it... Im waking up in recovery telling my nurse that i am nauseous! He gave me meds, but it did nothing. My doctor came by and said he will talk to me when I am more awake. What was suppose to be 45 mins, was 20... and he wheeled me to my room. Along the way we picked up my Lish from the waiting room. I was in tears because the pain was starting to kick in. I can remember Lish kissing my forehead... and I felt relieved to have her with me. When we got to the room they made me sit up so I can walk from one bed to the next. I told them I cant do it, I will throw up. So the nurse said to get a trash can. I did the dry heave about 3 times, then I did vomit some liquid. I felt a lot better though. I walked to my bed, and was in so much pain. I was in and out from that point on for about 2-3 hours. Nurses came in and out. Finally my doctor came in when I was some what conscious.
Come to find out, during surgery my left lung collapsed. He said during surgery that my oxygen levels went really low, so they stopped what they were doing to do an xray. They seen that my left lung was collapsed and then fixed the tubing to re-inflate my lung. That caused my esophagus (it took me forever to figure out how to spell that word) to be very swollen and irritated. When I would swallow my own saliva, it felt like i swallowed a rock. Due to my lung collapsing, they wanted to keep me for observation over night. GREAT. I was not thrilled with this. The nights stay was horrible. I was in a lot of pain, and very nauseous. Their meds for nauseousness SUCKS.
FRIDAY -
~*~*~*~
The next morning, I was feeling a lot better. I was able to walk around and drink juice and water. I had to go for a X-Ray and Barium swallow. I was an emotional mess. The xray was fine, but after being told i couldnt drink anything ... knowing i had to drink that nasty barium mix i started to cry. I cried and cried... and begged them to do it standing up, I knew i couldnt lay flat on a hard bed. I know they thought i was crazy... but i couldnt help it. The mixture of drugs + pain = emotions are everywhere! I got to see my band on my stomach. That was neat. Everything looked great. I was discharged at 2pm Friday afternoon! Yes!!!
My band buddy, Ashley, we were banded on the same date and met each other during our two week pre-op diet. She has been my rock, she has definitely motivated me through all of this. While in the hospital she surprised me with sending me flowers! That was the sweetest. Lish got me a key chain angel. Once i made it home, my roommate had balloons waiting on me.

Yesterday (2 days post op) I was feeling a lot better. I was walking a lot, playing video games with Lish, and able to go up and down stairs very well. I invited all my neighbors over for a game night, so we could all chill before Lish left today. We ordered pizza and had a few beers for them. I enjoyed my tomato soup lol. My neighbor Nicole got me a gift basket from Bath and Body works with my fav perfume, lotion, and a wallflower (Japanese cherry blossom). I enjoyed last night, but by 2am... i was beat and needed a bed. I took my shower.. and guess what?! My bandages came off from surgery. The doctor said they would come off Sunday.. so that was right on time!
SUNDAY-
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Today, I am feeling about 70% normal. I can do just about anything now... but still very sore and full of gas!!! Not very lady like. Just as long as I can get through this, I can get through anything. I got to stay focused on the end result.
I will conclude with some pictures... :)

They were very into Sonic Racing on the Wii. From Left to right:
Terrence, Patricia (up top), Lish, Nicole, and Tito.
Love em, the best neighbors ever!

Count Down Concluded
Sooooo today is the LAST DAY... and TOMORROW is the big day! I have spent all day preparing for the next couple weeks. I cleaned the house on Monday... but today...
1. I cleaned my room and bathroom
2. Washed my sheets and 2 loads of laundry
3. Bathed the dogs
4. Went to walmart to stock up on the meds that the dr told me to get
5. Got all this month's bills wrote out
6. Got my best friend's room set up
7. Went to publix for stamps
8. Went to visit dad... he is more nervous than i am.
9. Write my blog :)
So I am basically done with all that I can do to prep for this surgery. I just need to shower and shave... and wait for my bestfriend, Alicia aka - Lish, to get here. She will be in late, around 11pm or 12am. Then sleep... if i can.
Surgery is tomorrow at 1130am, but i have to be at the hospital by 10am. We are going to leave the house at 8:45am incase of traffic.. normally just a 45 min drive. I am getting nervous as type. Geez! I pray that the pain after will be bareable. I really dont have a choice. Also, I hope that I can go home with no problems.
Okay... I am going to lay down and watch some tv. *deep breath* ... everything will be okay. Say a small prayer for me. Thank you

What a day
Today has been one heck of a day. Anything that could go wrong, has went wrong this morning. I wont get into all that went wrong, I could write a book. Instead, Ill focus on the positive aspects, bc thats what counts.
I went for my pre-op appointment today at 2:30pm. I went to my doctor's office first to weigh in, and then walked across the street to the hospital to get registered. I got registered within a hour, and was off to meet my nurse. Rhonda showed me where i will be in recovery, and where I will meet for my surgery. She lead me to a small room, where i filled out MORE paperwork. She gave me a paper to go to the labratory to get blood work done. Afer giving blood i was free to go. I was suppose to get an EKG, but the tech wasnt in today. So i will get the EKG prior to surgery on Thursday.
So nerves are starting to become wrecked. I am thinking too much... esp about the after care. i am so scared of pain... :(
I will be fine though. I am looking forward to a bandnew me.
Just one more day...
